Dr. Choy will typically begin the evaluation by a thorough interview and exam. Filling out your medical forms ahead of time will help us gather the background information needed for a full wellness and sickness evaluation. When indicated, Dr. Choy will perform an EMG/NCS to assess the health of muscles and nerves. A small electrical impulse is applied to nerves in order to determine if they are functioning correctly. Then a dry needle with a microphone recorder will be applied to different muscles to find out how they are working. The aim is to verify if any nerves or muscles are affected so that Dr. Choy can make an accurate diagnosis and decide on the best treatment plan.
